Why Belted?

At Belted Bodies & Trailers, we believe every manufacturer and fleet owner deserves a safer and more efficient trailer, without sacrificing capability.

Traditional live bottom floor trailers use a narrow 900mm belt, which creates a ‘V’ shaped body and reduces cubic volume—making them ideal only for high-density products. Our design solves this by incorporating a wider belt, allowing our trailers to maintain a square shape, just like conventional tipper bodies. This means you get the same cubic capacity without compromise.

Our products are built to deliver unmatched safety, versatility, and efficiency.

No Tipping, No Risks

Our trailers eliminate the dangers of tipping, reducing the risk of rollovers and collisions with overhead obstacles like power lines.

Broad Compatibility

Load anything you would into a traditional aluminium tipper body and more, thanks to our wider belt and square body design.

Efficient Unloading

Experience the same quick unloading times as conventional tipper trucks, but with added safety.

Superior Capacity

Our trailers feature a square-shaped body that maximises payload capacity and space, offering more volume than traditional tipper or modern trailers.

Innovative Tailgate

We use a reliable tailgate design that’s been trusted for 50 years. It ensures a tight seal and consistent performance, with no mechanical parts to worry about. This means a straightforward, efficient unloading process with unbeatable reliability.

Customisable Heights

Looking for a trailer with specific dimensions? We’ve got you covered. Whether you need it for light products or different applications, we offer customisation options to meet your exact needs.

Durable and Lightweight

Our trailers are made from tough Hardox steel, designed to handle Australia’s rough conditions while staying light and competitive.

Meet our Founders

Our founders, Simon Apap and Daniel Grima are seasoned professionals who have spent decades in the transport industry, both as operators and fleet owners.

Their hands-on experience with live bottom floor trucks and trailers, combined with a commitment to innovation, led them to develop a product that offers unparalleled safety and versatility.

Simon Apap

Director & Founder, Belted Bodies and Trailers

With over 30 years of experience in the transport industry, I began my career as a heavy vehicle mechanic and repairer. Over time, I transitioned into becoming an owner-operator, eventually managing a fleet of tip trucks in NSW, Australia.
Throughout this journey, I encountered the ongoing challenges of staying competitive, versatile, compliant, and profitable in an evolving industry. When my customers expressed the need for live bottom floors, I realised the limitations of traditional equipment. Unable to find a suitable solution globally, I set out to create my own. The result was the Belted product – a versatile solution that not only matched the payload capacity of traditional tip trucks but surpassed them in compliance and functionality.
Whether it’s excavation or grain transport, my innovation allows operators to handle a diverse range of tasks with ease. Now, I’m excited to share this vision with the world, bringing more efficiency and versatility to the transport industry. “Today is the day, I will do better.”

Daniel Grima

Daniel Grima Director and Designer of Belted Bodies and Trailers

With a lifelong connection to the transport industry, I became a licensed body maker by the age of 19. I spent 15 years immersed in my family’s transport company, gaining hands-on experience in everything from management to building bodies and trailers. This blend of technical expertise and business understanding has given me unique insight into both the practical needs and the commercial realities of the transport industry.
Driven by a passion for finding innovative solutions, I teamed up with a longtime friend, Simon, to launch “Belted”.
At Belted, we designed and built what we believe to be the safest bulk transport bodies and trailers on the market. Our designs don’t just focus on safety and technical excellence, but also on being commercially viable for our clients, ensuring that quality and profitability go hand in hand.

The Widest Belt On The Market

Our Belted Trailers, featuring the widest belt on the market and a square body design, handle a broader range of products with greater volume capacity, making them ideal for materials like sands, aggregates, and soil mixes.

How our Trailer Works

Our live bottom floor system uses a conveyor belt to discharge loads without tipping, ensuring even unloading, reduced contamination risks, and reliable performance with a tightly sealed tailgate.

Safety First

Safety is at the heart of our design. Belted Trailers eliminate tipping risks like rollovers and contact with power lines, offering peace of mind with durable, lightweight construction that withstands Australia’s toughest conditions.

Why Safety is Our Concern?

At Belted Bodies & Trailers, safety isn’t just a feature; it’s the core of our design philosophy.

Our innovative approach to trailer design focuses on safety and mitigates common risks found in traditional tipper trucks.

Rollover Risks

Tipper trucks can easily roll over due to their high centre of gravity, especially on uneven terrain. Our live bottom floor trailers eliminate tipping, maintaining a low centre of gravity for greater stability and safety.

Inappropriate Trailer Selection

Choosing the wrong trailer for uneven or sloped surfaces increases accident risks. Our trailers, with their broad, flat design, are adaptable to various site conditions, ensuring safety across different terrains.

Overloading

Overloading affects stability and wear on components. Our trailers, with larger volume capacity and a wider belt, allow efficient load management, reducing strain without compromising stability.

Distribution of Load

Uneven load distribution can destabilise a truck. Our wide belt and square body design ensure even load distribution, maintaining stability and performance.

Unsafe Loading and Unloading

Tipping on unstable ground is hazardous. Our live bottom floor system uses a conveyor belt for smooth, safe unloading, eliminating the risks of tipping on uneven surfaces.

How We Manage the Risks

At Belted Bodies & Trailers, we’re not just setting new standards in trailer design—we’re redefining safety across the transport industry.

Details

We’ve taken major steps to minimise the risks associated with tipper trucks, as recommended by the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner. From the beginning of our trailer design process, we’ve eliminated the need for tipping by incorporating conveyor systems for safer and more efficient loading and unloading.

By using bottom unloaders in our live bottom floor trailers, we’ve enhanced safety and provided a more reliable solution. These safety features reflect our unwavering commitment to addressing real-world risks and challenges.
